It took me 40 years, but I’ve finally learned to stop defining myself by the things I am not, and instead focus on everything I am.My hope is that every girl and woman will do the same.
While it feels funny to say these things about myself, it’s important we to be real, and vulnerable – especially in front of our daughters. It’s in those moments that we connect with ourselves and others, learn and grow. We teach our daughters to be strong inside and out – not just by telling them, but by showing them the way.
Sure, we’ll make plenty of mistakes. The good new is parenting successfully is not about how we handle the everyday little fires.
